In the beginning God created a perfect world. A world void of suffering, hardships, disasters, hunger, wars, murders, killings and so on. While creating the world, he had man(Adam) in his mind. After creating the world, he made man in his own image. So he made a beautiful garden called Eden and then he placed man in it. He made the woman(Eve) as well. The reason why he created man was for the purpose of worship and fellowship.

| The Garden of Eden |
That was when man lost the image of God he was carrying and became totally separated from God That was the beginning of his toils and sufferings. The perfect world that God created was lost to the disobedience and the sin of man and that ushered in the imperfect world which we have to day.
Gen. 1:27So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Over time man had tried always to reconnect to God and go back to the image he was but all to no avail. Man being in the image of God means that man carried God inside him. That was the confidence of man, he need not to feel insecure at all times. Man was looking for an image of God to worship because man has that sense that there's a higher authority that one must submit to and also worship but he doesn't know the way. So he resorted to worshiping images of lifeless objects, rocks, animals, trees and so on. But they are getting it all wrong. Demons knowing that man is going about the whole thing wrong, decided to act as God inside those images they've made, now this looks like scam right? God looking at this error decided to use Enoch to warn his generation about the error they've made and the judgement but it all fell on deaf ears, God never stopped, he used Noah to also warn his own generation too but they refused. So God decided to send the flood which swept the entire world.
"This looks like someone formatting a computer badly infested with virus and that is exactly what God did to the whole world backing up eight people in the ark drive for almost 214 days"
Since the children of Israel has failed God, decided to send his son Jesus Christ to do what the law could not do through Israel
Rom. 8:3
3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
When man fell in the garden, the image of God left him but a new image(SELF) came in and took over man. This new image is against God. God tried to make this new image bow to his law but, he it did not produce the image he wanted in man so he sent Jesus to come and do it. Jesus did it by taking the form of the old self and dying with it on the cross giving us his own image in exchange for our own images which was subject to God's wrath so that we will not fall into it but enter into his mercy and grace.
The image we once lost has been restored by one man in the person of Jesus (hallelujah) therefore, we must put away any image of any kind and form and receive this new image that Christ has given us.
Come to think of this, what do you think was the propelling force behind his campaign to restore us to his image? It was the initial love he had in the beginning when he created man that kept him through. This new Image can only be received through faith in Christ Jesus which must be guarded with all diligence. If the first Image was lost through sin, then this one is not an exception.
Note: God is not be blamed for all the disasters that we've found ourselves in presently but instead, we are to blame because we are a product of all the wrong decisions we've made. God is only trying to mend a world that has already been broken. Also,
God's image in us through Christ must be seen now in our lives while we're still on earth but where we are going to manifest its fullness is when we all get to heaven.
Now that the image of God has been restored to us through Christ, we must not loose it again. We can only preserve the image of God in our lives through walking in obedience to God doing things his own way not ours if we must succeed.
May God help us to walk in his image all the days of our lives amen.
